Artists Profile: Ian Barrington

Ian Barrington; born London 1973, is a contemporary artist practicing predominantly within painting and photography since 1991, his main areas of investigation being societal cultures and diaspora fused with a long standing interest in languages and anthropology, in addition to a strong sense of environmental issues spawning his continuing series within abstraction.

Achieving a BA degree in Fine Art at the University of Westminster in 2003, he is currently continuing his development through an MA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art.

Following a 10 year career in arts education Ian focused on his artistic development. He has since exhibited and sold in over 70 solo and group exhibitions and fairs across Asia, the Middle East, Europe including world heritage site Casa Batllo, Barcelona, and widely across the UK.

Ian also mentors and represents a number of established and emerging global talent under his own arts organisation delivering seminars, events and exhibitions, in addition to his work as a Director of Narrative Movements art foundation based in Kolkata, India, to which he works with the international team toward the continued development and sustainability of the organisation.
